MSH Fall League Week 3: The Week Of the Underrated!
by Pat Benninger
September 30, 2007

Wow! The 2007 MSH Fall League just gets better and better!  From the stars to the unheralded prospects, players are performing at a very high level.  This week, plenty of prospects began making a name for themselves!

In the 7th-9th division, 6'4" Brandon Watson had another great performance scoring 22 points for Slip-N-Slide.  He went up against 6'4" Andrew Jordan and DTP.  Though Slip-N-Slide put up a good fight, 5'11" Pierce Furgason (18 points) was a little to much as DTP went home with the "W".

5'11" eighth grader Jeremy Wright did a good job pacing Def Jam with 21 points in a win over So So Def.  6'8" 220 lbs freshman Tyler Tarrence had a very good showing in the loss.

Cash Money's Travis Kellum had another big weekend with 18 points though his team dropped their game to 1st and 15th, who are currently 2-1.

Full Surface came up with a victory over Flipmode in big part to a 20 point effort by 5'9" Billy Seghetti.

Aftermath defeated The Diplomats by four in a very heated battle.  After being absent last weekend, both Tyler Storm (Aftermath) and D'mitri Riggs (The Diplomats) proved themselves as two of the state's most elite players.  Storm came away with 24 points while Riggs managed to score 21.

One of the most surprising games this weekend was BME's win over Roc-A-Fella.  Shaquille Florez had an outstanding performance scoring 18 points in the victory.  He's a very good player when playing with confidence as he did on Saturday.  6'4" D.J. Richardson scored 20 points in the loss.  Roc-A-Fella was coached by former NBA guard, A.J. Guyton.

5'11" Kendall Brown had his best performance yet with 27 points as Bad Boy beat GOOD in a 69-65 battle.  Though his team fell short, for the second straight week Jontell Lindsay showed that he was one of the better guards in a loaded 2009 class.  Look for him to be a force for Peoria Richwoods this season.

The combination of 6'8" Zeke Schneider (25 points), 6'5" Kendall Kinnison (24 points), and 6'3" Jarod Oldham (19 points) was far to much for Star Trak as Ruff Ryders won 87-73.  Schneider is one of the more underrated big men throughout the state and should have a breakout junior campaign this winter.  Star Trak was without star point guard James Kinney, who was on crutches after a foot injury sustained in an open gym this past weekend.  In addition, Lewis Jackson was missing from Ruff Ryders as he was on an unofficial visit at Purdue.
