D.J. has been a big time prospect since his MVP showing at the 8th Grade Real Deal All-Star Classic. He's respected very well on the state-wide and nation scale. His brother, Terrance Smith, was a very talented shooter at Peoria Central in 2005.

Scouting Report: An athletic guard with a long build. Richardson is a hard worker with a ton of potential. The do-it-all guard can do just that; do-it-all. He's a solid ball handler, penetrator, defender, passer, creator, and rebounder. In addition, he's become a great shooter. D.J. makes smart and decisive decisions on the floor at all times and is aggressive on both ends of the floor. As his confidence increases, so does his level of play. He is the next big thing out of the Peoria-area.
