THE BEST IN ILLINOIS HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL RECRUITING!

Player Profile:
Demetri McCamey

Class of 2007

School:

Westchester (IL) St. Joseph
AAU Team: Illinois Wolves
Position:

Point Guard / Shooting Guard

Height: 6'3"
Weight: 210 lbs

Player Comparison: Deron Williams

Scouting Report: Strong guard who's size will fool you, as he is extremely athletic.  McCamey has improved his game as much as anyone.  He developed a jumpshot and ball handling skills over the course of the last two years that has enabled him to transform into a point guard.  Demetri is good at penetrating to the lane while bullying his defender to the basket.  He is a solid rebound and a very good shot blocker.

Additional Notes:
McCamey has made four position transitions in the last four years.  As an incoming freshman, McCamey was thought of as a power forward due to the fact he was much bigger than his opponents.  After his freshman season ended, Demetri became transformed into a small forward.  When his sophomore year began, McCamey was still the same size while everyone else grew so he had to slide to the shooting guard position.  The summer after, Illinois Wolves AAU coach, Mike Mullins, felt it would be best for Demetri to become a point guard, which he is today.
