Yelovich Gets First Offer on Visit
by Pat Benninger
March 30, 2008

Mark Yelovich was one senior you didn't hear much talk about during the season but definitely made his presence felt on the court.  The senior forward averaged 22 points and 10 rebounds for a very talented Mt. Zion team that fell early to Springfield Southeast.

This past weekend, the 6-foot-6 200 pounder visited Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville and left very impressed.

"I did (visit them) on Saturday and it was pretty good," stated Yelovich.  "I played with the team and stuff, talked to the coaches, and they offered.  I like it a lot down there and I am very interested in them."

What exactly has him so interested?

"I like the coaches, the team, and the new recruits coming in.  It looks like a great place for me but we'll see."

Mark feels that this offer may lead to a few more

"They are the only one (school) that has offered but I think IPFW and UMKC will offer here real soon."

Other schools in the running for Yelovich include Evansville, Loyola-Chicago, Missouri State, and Northern Illinois.

"I do want to make a decision soon.  I would like to by the signing period.  Hopefully everything works out..."
