McCullough Blowing Up!
by Pat Benninger
February 11, 2008

A little more than a month ago, MidStateHoops.com introduced the world to under the radar post Eric McCullough.

The 6'9" 220 lbs senior at Normal U-High showed us great potential and there was no doubt in our mind that he could play Division I ball.  His combination of size, athleticism, aggressiveness, and will to work was too much to ignore.  We told the world he would be a hot mid major commodity in due time and sure enough, he is.

McCullough is probably the hottest prospect in the state of Illinois right now.  He's had visits from nearly ten collegiate programs to watch him practice or participate in game play since Christmas break.  Also, he's produced over 16 points and 10 rebounds per game since the break as he was averaging 12 points and 8 rebounds before.

Currently, Eric holds Division I offers from Holy Cross, IUPUI, Niagara, North Florida, and Tennessee-Martin.  Evansville, SIU-Edwardsville, and Wichita State have shown increasing interest in the overlooked post as well...offers may be coming from all three pretty soon.  In addition, Northwestern of the Big Ten recently came in to watch McCullough practice.  He is the Bloomington-Normal's area's most sought after mid major recruit since Brandon Dunson, who received 16 Division I scholarship offers last season.

We have no doubt that plenty of more schools will show interest and offer a scholarship to the rising star.  He has great potential and also boasts a 3.3/4.0 GPA with a score of 26 on the ACT...who wouldn't what a kid like this?

Keep it locked here at MidStateHoops.com for the latest on the recruitment of Eric McCullough.
