Curie Senior Adjusting Well to Transfer
by Pat Benninger
February 1, 2008

Chicago Curie is led by 5'10" Detroit signee Donovan Foster, freshman phenoms-Wayne Blackshear and Greg Travis, and a 6'10" 265 lbs transfer from Chicago Leo: Steve Goins.

Goins is a big body with a soft touch around the basket.  He does not play above the rim but is good at rebounding and works hard on both ends of the floor.  He's been great this season for Curie.  They currently sport a record of 16-6 and their man in the middle has been a double-double guy for them all season long.

"I'm currently averaging 13.2 ppg, 10.6 rpg, and 2.1 bpg," informed Goins.

The big man has been being recruited by some very high quality and prestigeous college programs.

"South Florida, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Illinois-Chicago, Detroit, Marist, Kentucky, Marquette, UConn, and Minnesota," are the names that Steve mentoined.  He claims offers from all of the schools except Kentucky and Marquette.

"I'm not really sure when I'm going to make any decisions.  I'm looking for a school that is well established; just a good basketball staff and a place where I feel apart of a family. My mother and my uncle will be helping me with making my decision."

Curie will be in action this Friday against Chicago Harper.
