2008 All-State Teams: Panthers Pair Take Home POY Awards
by Pat Benninger
March 22, 2008

Each year MidStateHoops.com selects eight players each from the small school and big school ranks to comprise two separate all-state teams.

Kyle Cassity earned player of the year for the small school ranks.  The recent St. Louis University commit had an outstanding season and career at Pinckneyville.  He demonstrated great ability and leadership throughout his four years on the varsity level.  His senior year, he led the Panthers to a 4th place Class 2A finish while averaging 19.2 ppg.

Lewis Jackson was your player of the year for the big school ranks.  The Purdue-bound Jackson was outstanding the entire season.  Until their section matchup with eventual Class 3A 3rd place champions (Champaign Central) LewJack led Decatur Eisenhower with an unblemished record.
