6'4" Bloomington High School rebounding machine, Lonnie Lawrence, has verbally committed to Lewis University.  

Lawrence is very athletic.  He's active on the offensive end and is good at gathering second chance buckets.  He rebounds the ball extremely well and is also a very good shotblocker.  He rates as one of the top 2007 forwards throughout the state of Illinois.

Lonnie is the second addition to Coach Scott Trost's 2007 recruiting class, as 6'7" York post, Steve Crane, committed last September.

Lawrence is the second from his high school to commit to the collegiate level for basketball purposes as teammate Cory Hainlen recently committed to Olivet Nazerene.  He also participates alongside both Justin Bocot and D'mitri Riggs who both project to be Division I players.

Lonnie chose Lewis over Illinois Wesleyan, Illinois Central College, and a variety of JUCO and small college level programs.
