Injuries Not Affecting Coaches' View Of Humphrey
by Pat Benninger
August 17, 2007

Class of 2009 standout Xavier Humphrey has been plagued by injuries for most of his career on the AAU circuit.  Usually, the injuries have all occurred around the month of July, sidelining him during the period where college coaches evaluate the hardest.  Surprisingly, coaches are still paying close attention to him and a few have even offered scholarships.

Humphrey, a 6'3" wing, is an athletic and versatile player.  He has good strength and the ability to defend many positions.  He can score in many ways and is very poised when competing.

Currently, seven schools have offered scholarships to the Fenwick High School star in Baylor, Evansville, Illinois State, Northern Illinois, Southern Illinois, UW-Green Bay, and UW-Milwaukee.  In addition, DePaul, Illinois, Indiana, Northwestern, St. Louis, Stanford, Virginia Tech, Wisconsin, and Xavier are all on his trail.

Xavier competes on the AAU circuit with Troy Johnson's Illinois Stars.  He had a GREAT summer despite his late injury.
