Lewis University Strikes Landing Their First 2007 Commitment
New Lewis University head coach, Scott Trost, has received his first commitment from the class of 2007 from one of the more underrated in-state prospects. 6'8" Steve Crane of York Community High School has given his verbal commitment. Crane is a fundamental post player that rebounds well. He plays hard and has a soft touch on his shot. He also scores well around the basket and is a good shot blocker. Steve competed on the AAU circuit with both Illinois Warriors and RBS All-Stars. Due to a foot injury, he was sidelined for seven weeks during the summer but is back an ready to compete. Crane decided to commit after visiting the school this past week. Trost is also recruiting Bloomington forward, Lonnie Lawrence, very hard. Lawrence was on campus this past weekend, along with Crane, and gave rave reviews. It is expected to come down between Lewis and Illinois Wesleyan, where Trost coached last winter.
