Brandon Smith

Position: Point Guard
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 155 lbs
Notes: A heady point guard that is good at getting to the middle of the floor to make plays.  Smith is a capable 3-point and very good midrange shooter with good form and confidence.  He looks up the floor and is good at getting the ball to the right places on the floor.  He is smooth and quick with good ball handling and passing skills, plus, he is active defensively.  Smith has been in an unfortunate situation at Simeon as Derrick Rose (NBA) and Kenyon Smith (Illinois State) were the premier point guards.  Hopefully he'll get his shot this upcoming season because the kid can play.

Doug Haas

High School: Bloomington Central Catholic
AAU Team: Team Illinois
Class: 2011
Position: Point Guard
Height: 5'9"
Weight: 135 lbs
Notes: A small guard that gave all his efforts.  Haas gives 110% and leaves his heart on the floor.  He is a team oriented player that does what it takes for his team to win.

Jens Kennedy

High School: Dwight
AAU Team: Team Illinois
Class: 2011
Position: Power Forward
Height: 6'6"
Weight: 175 lbs
Notes: We came away very impressed with Kennedy.  He's very skilled on the interior and can score offensively.  He attacks the boards and pursues rebounds, often leading in a putback basket.  Though he needs to gain some strength, he plays aggressive and didn't back down from any opponent the entire day.  Jens is very long with big feet and looks as if he will grow within the near future.

Wesley Powell

High School: Joliet Township
AAU Team: Illinois Red Raiders
Class: 2009
Position: Point Guard
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 150 lbs
Notes: A very quick point guard with good very good skills.  Powell handles it well and can knock down shots.  He's good at getting to the rim and creating for himself.  He's very smooth and is reminiscent of former area guard, Bruce Durham.

Colin Ferguson

High School: Charleston
AAU Team: Team Illinois
Class: 2012
Position: Center
Height: 6'8"
Weight: 226 lbs
Notes: Ferguson is a very good kid with an extremely mature body.  He's every bit of 6'8" and considering he just turned 14 and wears a size 18 shoe, it's safe to say that he has a lot more inches in him.  He has a strong build and runs the floor well.  He can rebound, has a soft touch on his jumpshot which extends to 15 feet, and he plays very hard.  He is young and he is improving.  In due time, he has a chance to play at a very high level.
